Transportation FAQ
How do I reserve a rental vehicle?
Call the reception desk, 201-1800 or send an
e-mail to Office Services Reception Desk in the Address Book to request the rental of a car. The receptionists will call you back after they have the information on where to pick-up the car and where to drop it off for Enterprise Car Rental.
The Daily Travel Log needs to be filled out with the beginning and ending odometer readings, trip miles, local miles and total miles, destination, name, department, and supervisor's signature.

It is your responsibility to fill the gas tank before returning the car to Enterprise. You will be reimbursed for the fuel when you submit your Employee Expense Report with the original gas receipt and mileage log. Submit this to your supervisor for approval and forwarding to the Business Office. If you lose the receipt you will be required to complete an affidavit.
Submit a copy of your Daily Travel Log, a copy of the gas receipt, and the original Enterprise invoice to the receptionist who made the rental arrangements.
How do I enroll in the Metropass Bus Program?
The system office works with Metro Transit to provide employees an opportunity to enroll in the Metropass program. By enrolling in this program you will be able to ride any Metro Transit route and affiliated suburban transit systems 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Once you enroll, you will pay the monthly fee through payroll deduction. All system office full-time employees and part-time employees who work 20 hours a week or more may enroll in the program. It is not possible to provide the Metropass to student workers, interns, temporary employees, or campus employees. Employees are not eligible for both the Metropass program and parking. Contact Dennis Carlson in Office Services, dennis.carlson@so.mnscu.edu, to enroll in this program.
How do I arrange for employee parking?
There are basically three options for employee parking that can be obtained through Office Services: the parking garage under Wells Fargo Place, the World Trade Center Ramp at 477 Cedar St. and the remote lot at 390 Kellogg Blvd. near Lowertown. The first two are restricted to permanent, full-time system office employees. Employees pay through payroll deduction. The forms to sign up for parking and information about rates are available from Dennis Carlson, dennis.carlson@so.mnscu.edu, on the 3rd floor of WFP. Employees are not eligible for both parking and the Metropass program. Persons working at the system office who are not eligible for parking can find St. Paul Parking information at the City of St. Paul Web site.

How do I validate parking for my guests and visitors?
A program has been established that allows system office departments to validate parking for their special guests in the World Trade Center ramp located at 477 Cedar St., across 7th St. from Wells Fargo Place. We cannot validate parking at any other facility through this program.
It is each department's responsibility to determine which guests receive validated parking. Campus employees visiting the system office are encouraged to pay for their parking and submit parking costs to their campus for reimbursement.
Monthly invoices from the ramp will be paid by Office Services. Usage will be tallied and charged back to the departments.
If you are planning event that has many guests scheduled to park in the ramp on a particular day (whether parking is validated or not) it is recommended that you notify Office Services two or three days ahead of time. We will then contact ramp management to inform them that an estimated number of people will be using the ramp on that day. Sometimes, when special events are taking place in St. Paul, the ramp can fill to capacity. If given enough lead time, ramp management will try to accommodate your needs.
