Creative works by faculty, students on display
Loaned artworks created by faculty and students from throughout the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system have been installed in public areas of the Office of the Chancellor in Wells Fargo Place, downtown St. Paul.
New artwork from system faculty and students will be rotated into the exhibit each academic year. Curator for the new art display project is Martin Springborg, a faculty development coordinator at the system's Center for Teacher and Learning.
This year, works by Ashley Beaudoin, Aaron Bommarito & Michelle Windey, Tom Grier, Dan Mason, Sheryl McRoberts, Sherry Lee Short, Darrell Tangen and Robert A. Williams are on display.
In addition, artwork by Barbara Bridges, a faculty member at Bemidji State University, was commissioned by the Office of the Chancellor in 2001 and is on permanent display.
Other works on permanent display include a Lakota Ceremonial Shirt made by Charles Fast Horse and presented as a gift to the system by Dr. Steven Crow of St. Cloud State University and a mahogany bookcase made by Vern Bell and Larry Tucker of Rochester Community and Technical College and presented as a gift to the system by the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees Council 6 and Rochester Community and Technical College.
